Fern Lane - Going Up!!

Blog Category:
Ecology Action Centre third storey East wall

Exciting news... the brand new third storey of our Fern Lane home is underway! Scroll down for some great photos of the action. We are using an interesting and strategic process of building the whole third floor over the existing roof and making it weathertight before removing the old roof. One of the big advantages is that the building remains weathertight through the whole process. The framing goes up really quickly and if you're in the neighbourhood the first wall is already visible from Agricola Street!

We’re also trucking along with other exciting milestones: the new interior stairwell, great salvaged material finds, framing in the new huge boardroom windows on the ground floor on Fern Lane, and some very sexy below-grade exterior insulation for the foundation.
