Noreen grew up in the beautiful country of Zimbabwe and moved across the world to make Halifax her new home back in 2014. She is a graduate of Dalhousie University’s College of Sustainability and has a passion for the environment and community engagement. Shortly after graduating Noreen began working in the non-profit sector for an organization focused on social justice issues in the HRM. Through this work, Noreen gained vast experience in advocacy, coalition building and campaign design. While working in the non-profit sector, Noreen’s project focuses were Affordable Housing and Internet for All. Work on these campaigns helped her familiarize herself with existing attitudes towards social reform within the Nova Scotia political arena as well as amongst local community groups. Noreen is excited to use her experience to advance the work the Energy Team has been doing while also taking lead on new projects.
During the summer, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, swimming in the ocean, and playing tennis. As for the winter, its been 6 years and she is still adjusting to the cold so you will find her indoors enjoying game nights with friends or playing squash.
