“Advocacy” or “political activity” by registered charities has received a lot of attention this year. Many charities are worried that they may get into trouble for speaking out in their fields of expertise.
This workshop will provide an in-depth and interactive examination of the applicable law and regulatory policy of the Canada Revenue Agency. It will provide practical advice on how to contribute to public policy debate and decision making without jeopardizing your registered charity status.
It will also include time for general questions on any matters relating to charity law.
Richard Bridge is a lawyer based in Middleton who works with charities and non-profit organizations across Canada. He has given hundreds of public education sessions on various charity law and governance issues.
