In order to meet the growing demand for building retrofits in Nova Scotia, thousands of jobs will be created, presenting exciting opportunities for our province's skilled trades workforce and supporting our economy here at home. This report examines the challenges, potential solutions and socioeconomic impacts of developing the skills of Nova Scotia’s building-retrofit workforce to support our province’s energy-efficiency objectives. Which green jobs will see the most growth? What barriers exist for workers to enter the skilled trades, and what changes could help?
