P.O.C.K.E.T.S Workshop with Community Garden Kjipuktuk

In response to the growing impacts of climate change and climate disaster, Community Garden Kjipuktuk has developed a concept known as P.O.C.K.E.T.S (People Organizing and Collaborating on Kits for Emergencies, Tactics, and Safety). This idea was developed while gardening and discussing the impacts of climate change on our communities.

In these interactive workshops, we'll discuss:

  • what it means to be prepared for climate events
  • questions you can ask yourself, your family and your community, to be more ready to respond to climate disasters
  • how we can ensure we don’t leave vulnerable community members behind

Plus, we'll share prompts, discussions and activities to prepare you and your community for when disaster strikes.

Note: To encourage community care, masks are required at these events. Masks will be provided at the workshop if you do not have one.

There will also be an ASL interpreter present.
