“Organizing is leadership that enables people to turn the resources they have into the power they need to make the change they want.”
Marshall Ganz, a longtime civil rights activist in the U.S. and current Harvard professor, gave us this simple and clear explanation.
Many of the hard-won environmental victories we’ve seen throughout Halifax’s and Nova Scotia’s history have been due to the incredibly passionate work of community members and organizing groups, campaigning to protect their communities. Now more than ever, we need to make our voice loud and clear to stand up for what is right and just.
But... where on earth do you start?
