Join us in May for a month-long celebration of the EAC community!

For the month of May, we celebrated the Ecology Action Centre’s community with a series of events throughout the province. It was a chance to celebrate the amazing people that help make our work possible every day.

  • Membership May Launch Party – Friday, May 5, 7 p.m. **REGISTRATION FULL!

    Join us as we celebrate the kickoff of Membership May! The night will feature the launch of our GoodWill Partnership Beer as well as environmental-themed trivia.
  • Documentary Film Screening and Social â€“ Tuesday, May 9, 6–9 p.m. 
    Al Whittle Theatre/Just Us! Coffee House, 450 Main Street, Wolfville 
    Join us for a screening of Burned: Are Trees the New Coal?, a feature-length film about the biomass pellet industry in southeastern US, followed by a meet and greet with some of the EAC’s staff. Featuring a signature EAC cocktail, non-alcoholic drinks and free popcorn! 
  • Propeller Community Cask Night – Friday, May 12, 6 p.m. 
    Propeller Brewing Gottingen Tap Room, 2015 Gottingen Street, Halifax 
    Stop by Propeller’s Gottingen Tap Room for a pint of their Charity Beer! Proceeds will go to support the EAC’s Green Avengers team in the 2023 Blue Nose Marathon!
  • Kelp Products and Farming Info Session – Monday, May 15, 5–7 p.m. 
    Laughing Whale Coffee Roasters, 261 Lincoln Street, Lunenburg 
    Are you Kelp Kurious? Come learn how kelp farming can be a viable source of sustainable income for coastal communities, and about the EAC‘s work supporting this emerging opportunity in Nova Scotia – from seedling to product development!   
  • 2023 Blue Nose Marathon â€“ Friday, May 19 – Sunday, May 21

    The EAC’s Green Avengers team is lacing up to run in the Blue Nose Marathon again this year! Join our team, donate to their fundraising campaign and/or come cheer them on! 
  • Electric Vehicle Test Drive Event – Thursday, May 25, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

    We’re partnering with Efficiency One’s Next Ride program to offer our members a chance to test drive an electric vehicle! 
  • Guided Hike of Sandy Lake Regional Park – Saturday, May 27, 1–4 p.m. **REGISTRATION FULL!

    Join Karen McKendry, wilderness outreach coordinator with the EAC, for a guided hike through Sandy Lake Regional Park.

    Join us for a night of environment-themed trivia with awesome local prizes and short presentations on the EAC’s work in the Cape Breton area. Trivia will start at 7 p.m.!
