Workshop: Electric Buses for Atlantic Canadian Children

An educational workshop for parents and kids to explore the benefits of electric school buses on children's health and the environment!

This hybrid event will feature a panel of experts from the health and electric vehicle sectors who will guide parents through the negative health impacts of gas and diesel-powered buses, and discuss how a switch to electric can help protect the health of your children and the environment.

Event details:

Date: Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024
Time: 1 - 3 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.)
Location: Online via Zoom and in person at NSCC Ivany Campus, Snider Family Gallery, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Free snacks, childcare and youth programming will be available on site for in-person attendees.

Electric school buses are rapidly expanding across the country, but Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland have been slower to adopt this important change. Experts from the Ecology Action Centre, the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, the Conservation Council of New Brunswick and NB Lung will also be launching a new report on the troubling health effects of gas and diesel-powered buses and introducing a toolkit designed for parents, teachers, school staff, bus drivers, students and policymakers to take action.
